Hey, what's up.

Who Am I?

I'm Justin Josiah Ackerknecht, but I usually go by J.J. or JayAck. I grew up in the States (mainly California) but have spent most of my adult life overseas in South Korea and the UK along with my wonderful wife and derpy-ass dog.

I'm also a member of the SFWA.

What Do I Do?

Previously, I've worked as a snake-handler, an associate professor of English, a cashier, an accountant, a car-washer, and a few other things. I definitely enjoy writing and teaching the most. I've been writing for fun and (sometimes) profit since I was in pre-school.

What Kinds of Stories Do I Write?

I like to write primarily at the intersections of Fantasy and Horror, and will occasionally dip my toes into Sci-Fi. I love characters with big hearts and monsters with sharp teeth. I write primarily for adults, but have written some mature Young Adult fiction in the past.
